What social activities does that college offer to Distance Education students?2023-08-29T13:57:10+10:00

Throughout the academic year, the college offers various events that students are welcome to attend.

Primary Students are able to attend the below non-compulsory events:

  • Excursions (one per semester)
  • Workshops (one per semester)
  • Sporting Carnivals
  • Swimming Carnival (Year 4 onwards)
  • Athletics Carnival
  • Cross Country
  • Camps (these are not included in the tuition fees, additional costs apply).

Secondary Students are able to attend the below non-compulsory events:

  • Subject specific excursions
  • Secondary Study Days (one per term)
  • Secondary Dance
  • Sporting Carnivals
  • Swimming Carnival
  • Athletics Carnival
  • Cross Country
  • Camps (these are not included in the tuition fees, additional costs apply).
Is my child required to wear a school uniform when visiting the college for events?2023-08-29T13:57:10+10:00

Students visiting the college are not required to wear the Groves specific uniform, however students are required to adhere to the Non Uniform Day Dress Code. This document outlines appropriate attire for school site attendance.

Does my student have to participate in school based events such as workshops?2023-08-29T13:57:11+10:00

Attendance at most Distance Education events is highly recommended, but not compulsory. Some subjects in Senior Phase may require compulsory participation, such as the Year 12 Biology camp as it may be a requirement for an assessment task.

Is there a fee associated with attending DE events?2023-08-29T13:57:11+10:00

Most events including workshops, study days and excursion are inclusive in the tuition fees for DE students, with the exception of Senior Formal and year level camps. Where sibling or parent participation is possible, attendance costs may apply.
