This week our Term 4 rotational subjects commenced. Students will attend a group chat in Week 10 to hear more about their new course.
Year 8 and Year 9 students will complete a nine-week Digital Technologies course. Year 9s will have fun exploring Excel spreadsheets. They will use sales data to calculate total costs and analyse the results. Year 8s will learn the basics about Blockly visual programming and create a maze game for their friends and families to play. Through the use of technology, students’ roles as digital citizens will be reinforced. In addition, it will teach them how to navigate the digital world responsibly.
Year 7 students will be challenged by a nine-week Design Technologies course. The main focus will be to design and construct a bridge strong enough to carry a remote-controlled vehicle. Students will need to use ingenuity in their designs as resources will be limited to paddle pop sticks and glue. Design projects such as this help students develop a critical understanding of the impact of design and technology on daily life and the wider world.
Students and home tutors are encouraged to contact their teacher if they have any questions about the Term 4 rotational subjects. We look forward to seeing your projects!
