Our recent visit to Beenleigh Historical Village was a journey back in time, offering students a unique glimpse into the past. The day began with a fascinating tour of an old school, where we delved into historical learning styles and discipline methods. The students were intrigued to learn about the transportation methods children used to get to school a century ago, adding a rich context to their understanding of history.

As we wandered through the village, we marvelled at the century-old buildings and machinery that have stood the test of time. The highlight of the visit was a hands-on experience where students tried their hand at traditional laundry techniques using an old drying press. This interactive activity not only sparked curiosity but also provided a tangible connection to historical practices.

The students thoroughly enjoyed engaging directly with history, making the past come alive in a way that textbooks alone cannot achieve. The experience was both educational and enjoyable, demonstrating the power of immersive learning. At Beenleigh Historical Village, history is not just learned — it is experienced!
