Our Groves Christian College Senior Volleyball teams proudly represented the College at the annual Volleyball Senior Schools Cup, competing against some of the strongest school volleyball programs from across Queensland. The Year 11 Girls and Year 12 Girls teams competed over three exciting and demanding days, where students demonstrated outstanding determination, teamwork, and school spirit, creating memories that will last long after the final whistle.
While the competition itself was fierce, the tournament was a chance for the students to display character and personal growth. Throughout the event, players stepped outside their comfort zones and embraced new challenges for the benefit of their teams. Several students willingly learned and played unfamiliar positions, showing adaptability, resilience, and a genuine commitment to their teammates.
Competing against schools from across the state provided valuable opportunities to test skills, learn from high-level opponents, and experience the intensity of representative-level competition. Each match brought new lessons, requiring players to communicate effectively, remain composed under pressure, and work together to overcome setbacks. These experiences helped strengthen not only their volleyball abilities but also their confidence, leadership, and perseverance. The tournament was filled with laughter, memorable rallies, and countless examples of students supporting one another.
As a Christian school, we are especially proud of the way our students reflected the values of Groves Christian College. Throughout the tournament, they demonstrated respect for opponents, gratitude towards officials and organisers, humility in victory, and grace in defeat. They showed compassion towards teammates facing challenges and consistently encouraged one another, embodying Christ-like attitudes both on and off the court.
Congratulations to every player, coach, manager, and supporters who contributed to such a memorable experience. The lessons learned, friendships strengthened, and memories created at the 2026 Senior Schools Cup will undoubtedly remain with our students for years to come.
