Groves was privileged to once again enter several of our music groups in the Beenleigh Eisteddfod this year.
The annual Beenleigh Eisteddfod brings together schools from across the greater Brisbane region to participate in a range of music and dance competitions. This event provides students with a valuable opportunity to experience the excitement of performance, develop resilience and confidence, and showcase their talents before judges and supportive audiences.
This year, Groves entered five music groups:
- Year 3–4 Performance Choir
- Year 5–6 Performance Choir
- Secondary Choir
- Anima Voce Singing Group
- Senior Drumline Ensemble
With the competition continuing to grow each year, the standard of performances was exceptionally high and the competition was fierce. Despite this, the judges and audiences were encouraging and provided valuable feedback to all participants.
Our students demonstrated outstanding commitment through their weekly rehearsals and preparation. Their growth, dedication and musical development were clearly evident in their performances, and we are incredibly proud of their achievements.
We are delighted to share that both our Year 3–4 Performance Choir and Year 5–6 Performance Choir placed third in their respective sections.
Our Anima Voce Singing Group achieved fourth place and received a Highly Commended award. This is a particularly impressive accomplishment, as they competed against ten other schools. These results reflect Groves’ commitment to nurturing the whole student through a biblical worldview, with a strong focus on academic excellence, the arts, sport, and wellbeing through meaningful connection within our community. Opportunities such as the Beenleigh Eisteddfod allow students to develop their God-given gifts, build confidence and resilience, and experience a sense of belonging while pursuing excellence
