Harmony Day Celebrations are well known in our Groves community. This year we will be celebrating as a Whole College on Thursday, March 16 by inviting our families to attend a special evening event. The event will feature our talented students celebrating a range of cultures within the Groves community, with extra entertainment for families to enjoy.
Food and entertainment – 5.00-6.30pm
Families are welcome from 5.00pm, to enjoy the food and atmosphere of the evening. We are excited to have, BBQ To You, Pippis Kai and Rolls Pho Mi coming as food vendors, selling cultural and Australiana dishes. Click related button below to view their menu. The Groves Café will also be selling hot and cold drinks. We will have music playing whilst you are enjoying the treats and atmosphere. Facepainting available at a small cost for children prior to the performances only. There’ll be plenty of seating, so enjoy the setting and food with the family before the main event.
Evening performance event – 6.30-7.30pm
The cultural performances will be in the MPC, commencing at 6.30pm and concluding at 7.30pm. Student performers will have earlier drop-off times to prepare for the performance, which may enable families to enjoy the food and entertainment while waiting for the evening stage event.
Parking and bookings
Parking is available via Walsh Place or the front of the College along Laughlin Street. Bega Road gates will be closed and not accessible during this event.
Entry is free, however MPC seating will be limited for this popular event. Please book your free ticket through Humanitix. Alternate seating will also be provided in the Café with a livestream for families with small children if the auditorium is not ideal.
Photography
Filming/photography will take place at the event for promotional and archival purposes. The photographs and recording made are likely to appear on College News as a reflection of the event. If you would prefer not to be photographed, please let the photographer know.
We look forward in welcoming our families to this evening event celebrating diversity at Groves.
“Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth.
Sing to the LORD, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvellous deeds among all peoples.”
