We would like to thank everyone who attended the inaugural Groves Careers Expo and helped make the night such a wonderful success!

The event saw a total of 30 exhibitor stalls, from universities, VET and trade trainers sharing with students the many pathways to their goals, to the Australian Defence Force, Queensland Police Service, NAB, and NGU Real Estate for demonstrating what it means to be valuable and serving members of the local and wider community. A special highlight for many was the marked police car and uniform that students could try on and get photos with.

Senior subject teachers also had stalls set up with colourful and interactive displays. Students had the chance to speak with their future teachers, learn about the different types of assessments, and see which subjects might be best for them in their senior years of schooling.

3 food trucks kept energy levels high for the hundreds of students and families who attended. It was encouraging to witness the enriching conversations, bold aspirations, and excited buzz around future decision-making.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all students and families who attended, the teachers for their fantastic subject stalls, the external exhibitors for sharing their wealth of industry experience and knowledge, and all the staff who supported with the organisation, logistics, and support of the event.

We’re looking forward to furthering the conversations with SET Plan Meetings for our Year 9 and 10 students over the coming weeks as they plan their future pathway and choose their subjects for next year. Bookings are now open for Year 9 and 10 families to schedule their SET Plan Meetings with Mr Ingledew and Mrs Nieuwoudt.
