On the 21st and 22nd of  March,  Year 10 students had two intensive days of Chemistry learning. They coloured in and annotated the periodic table according to the various ways it is organised. On Friday, they reacted sodium thiosulfate with hydrochloric acid to test out how various factors such as temperature, surface area, agitation and concentration of the hydrochloric acid affects the time of reaction, which causes the reacted solution to become cloudy from the precipitation of sulfur. Students enjoyed working in the laboratory and being precise in measurements to collect accurate data. DE students have also developed valuable laboratory skills and data processing skills on the day.
