On Monday, October 12, Intermediate Phase students had their weekly chapel event in the MPC. Our Year 3 teachers presented the story of the biblical character, Jonah, through an interactive game and a drama item which some of our students also participated in. The key scripture was from Psalms 32:8, ‘I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.’
Our assemblies occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, with Intermediate Phase students receiving their weekly awards, ‘Encouragement,’ ‘Student of the Week’ and ‘Player of the Week.’ Congratulations to Gabrielle 5B, Ryan from 5M and Joshua from 5G who were awarded ‘Player of the Week’! Special mention to 6M for receiving the ‘Class of the Week’ award, for their participation in accelerated reading activities online. Students received updates on upcoming events such as the Intermediate Phase Swimming Carnival on Friday, October 16.
Please note that due to other college events, our usual Intermediate Phase chapel on Monday morning, October 19, in Week 3, will occur in individual classrooms instead of the MPC. Students will be required to start on campus 2 and continue with normal chapel activities in classrooms with their peers and teachers.
We are looking for additional volunteers to assist us with Home Readers on Mondays & Thursdays particularly. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested.
