The Year 12 students have completed most of their work towards their certificate courses and are ready to embark on the exciting adventure of applying for a job.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in a short program to further develop their skills for employment. This program will allow them to experience the process of seeking and applying for a job through a simulation program, including:

• Searching for the job they want
• Creating their resume
• Applying for the job
• Writing their cover letter
• Participating in a mock job interview.

In this simulation, students will choose from a selected range of positions, apply for the position via a cover letter and resume and attend a mock interview. They will be interviewed by industry experts from the local business community who have volunteered their time to participate in this event.

Date: Tuesday, August 18, 2020
Time: 9:00 am until 11:00 am
Venue: Groves Christian College Campus 1 – MPC
Dress: Smart Casual – Students will need to be appropriately dressed for their interview. (They will have a learning session before the event to ensure they know the requirements.)

NOTE: Students will need to bring their formal uniform to change into during first break in order to be ready for the remainder of their classes.
