As the term begins to wind down and we approach the holidays it has been pleasing to see students maintain their focus and productivity in class. In what has been quite an eventful week all students had their class and individual photographs on Monday at campus 1 whilst on Wednesday, the Semester 2 reports were shared electronically with all families. Also involving Intermediate Phase students was a live recording event on Wednesday featuring the choir, violin and other instrumental students creating content to share with a local retirement home.

In order to acknowledge and recognise student achievement, weekly awards are being distributed in all classrooms each week. For this week special mention goes to 5G who are our Class of the Week, for their enthusiastic engagement in dictionary definition races where students worked in small groups to find definitions as quickly as possible! Congratulations to 5G!

As the term ends, the Home Reading program has ceased, but we continue to encourage students to maintain their habit of daily reading during the holidays. If your student has completed their Premier’s Reading Competition record sheet or needs a new one, class teachers can provide an additional sheet. The competition officially finishes on Friday, August 28 at which time the record forms need to be returned to class teachers.

Lastly, a particular mention for two of our Intermediate Phase classes. 4C for successfully borrowing more library books this semester than any other class and 6S for their excellent engagement in the Home Reading program this semester! Well done, students.
