It was so encouraging to watch Year 4 students make parachutes this week in science. They worked in cooperative groups which reinforced turn-taking and sharing. Students learned that a parachute is a device used to slow down an object when it falls to the ground. As it opens the air, resistance increases and it slows down the parachute so that the object lands safely on the ground. They could not wait to test out their new innovative parachute models.
