Throughout this season, we have experienced change and uncertainty as the world around us deals with a pandemic that affects all. Upon reflection of recent events such as this, as well as ANZAC day and Mother’s Day, it is so encouraging to see the way our communities surround us as we continue to reflect and celebrate what is important. Last week it was wonderful to see how Mothers were recognised for all they do. Not only are their sacrifices evident but their purpose in life speaks volumes. So much can be learned about the heart of God from the way a Mother speaks and acts towards her children. At the College, our vision is to see young men and women with loving hearts and strong minds for God shine like stars as they pursue His purpose now and into eternity.
This term, the service and purpose of the staff has been evident through a provision of enriched education to students, whether learning from home or at school. The servant heart of the teachers is displayed through the computer screen and in the classroom as they strive to fulfil their purpose in reaching their students and helping them through their learning journey. Online, this has been done by staff members reading with students, integrating classes, and teaching lessons. On campus, teachers have been engaging with their students face to face through lessons that have been modified to suit the climate.
As we deal with this change and uncertainty, our purpose not only as educators shines but also our Godly purpose; to be the light of the world and to show God’s goodness to others. The purpose of the College is to continue providing this education and shining the character of God to the community around us.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9
