The first day of the Stem Club activities went off  with a flying start, literally. The first activity was to propel a straw with a balloon, along a string. Various designs were incorporated to achieve the desired result. Consideration was needed to ensure the thrust from the balloon was parallel to the string. The second activity was to construct a different design of paper aeroplane, created by the world record holder. Flying was difficult due to the rain but all the students enjoyed the activities.
