On Friday, February 7, Foundation students enjoyed their first weekly chapel. This year, during chapel, foundation students will be learning about a character from the bible each term. For Term 1, students will be looking at the Old Testament character, Jonah. The Year 1 and Year 2 students watched a video that gave them a brief introduction about who Jonah was and some key points about his journey with God. Throughout the term Foundation Phase will discover more about the relationship between God and Jonah and what lessons we can learn from this.
On Monday of week three, the Year 1 and 2 students received their ‘Student of the Week’ and ‘Encouragement Awards’ certificates for their learning progress. Students were also spoken to about the school banking program by a Commonwealth Bank representative. They were informed of the importance of saving and the prizes they could win by participating in school banking.
We look forward to the Agape chapel this Friday in the MPC. All Foundation Phase students from Prep to Year 2 will be attending and parents are welcome to join as we hear about the great love that God has for us.
Prep students will be officially joining the rest of Foundation Phase for weekly assembly and phase chapels in week six this term. Although they do not attend assembly at the moment they are still receiving awards from their classroom teacher.
