Thank you for choosing to be part of our learning community in 2020. At Groves we believe the way for students to enjoy a full life now, and into eternity, is through developing their gifts and talents to serve and positively influence others in response to God’s love and purpose for their lives. Working together we can encourage, equip and inspire our students to be better prepared to serve their families, communities, country and the wider world, to God’s glory and for the wellbeing of others.

Therefore, our focus is on enhancing student engagement, achievement, faith and wellbeing. Students have the responsibility to contribute to their learning and to the wellbeing of everyone within our learning community as they work hard to achieve their personal best. We are blessed at Groves to have students wanting to care for others and succeed in their studies. However, there will be times when some students will need additional support to overcome the obstacles blocking them to achieve. It is at these times that the partnership between school and home plays an important part in helping students understand the reality of their situation and to overcome those blockages preventing them to positively engage.

I encourage you to stay engaged in your child’s learning as the year progresses and to stay connected as they move up the year levels. Having family members supporting, encouraging, challenging, and keeping students accountable are proven methods of helping students achieve their personal best.

Calendar Bible Verses

Each month in the Groves calendar we highlight a Bible verse. We start the year with Matthew 6:33, ‘Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.’ When we put this verse into action, we are freed from the pressure of thinking we need to buy the latest ‘thing’ or experience the latest social media craze. Rather we can steadily work towards those aspects of life that have real meaning and purpose.
