In Week 7, on Friday during Chapel, Foundation students worshiped God with songs of praise and prayer, acknowledging His blessings over the year. Continuing on with the Life of Esther from the Bible, students learned how courageous Esther was to visit the King who extended his gold sceptre and was ready to grant any of her wishes. Queen Esther threw two parties where she invited Haman and the King. Haman felt very proud of this special invitation but was also angry that Mordecai still refused to bow down to him. So he planned to punish and kill Mordecai. Students were reminded that while anger is an emotion, it’s important to use the correct strategies to not stay angry as it can be very damaging to us as well as those around us. The scripture verse for the week is found in Ephesians 4:26 – “In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry”. Chapel was concluded with prayer and worship from the Groovy Grovers.

On Monday of Week 8, the Foundation Phase Assembly commenced with prayer and everyone singing the National Anthem. Students were awarded certificates for their hard work over the week. Students who missed their Awards event were given their ‘Academic Excellence’ awards for their outstanding performance in their learning this year. Class 2B received the Mathletics trophy for a solid effort in their online Mathematics participation as well as the ‘Class of the Week’ for displaying leadership skills during outdoor activities. Foundation Phase students were excited to have the opportunity to visit one of their 2020 year level classes on Friday where they will participate in fun activities with the teacher and their peers. A Prep S student and their teacher, Miss Sprong concluded the Assembly with prayer.
