On Tuesday, November 26, students from our Strings Program, Intermediate Choir and Instrumental Program were invited to host a Christmas-themed concert at The Plains Retirement Village. The student groups performed various musical items, and the concert ended with community carol singing. Thereafter, students had an opportunity to hand out gifts and handwritten cards to the residents.
The Concert went extremely well, and there was very positive feedback on both the quality of performances and student behaviour. We are thankful to The Plains for our continual partnership in this annual event, and the privilege for our students to see that the music that they learn is a wonderful gift for to share with and serve the wider community.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all parents for their continued support of the various Arts programs in the school. The words of 1 Peter 4:10-11 come to mind:
‘Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms…If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.’
