It has been a big year for our Cheerleading teams of 2019. Thank you to all the students and families for their commitment to being a part of the program this year. We have competed in Logan and on the Gold Coast throughout the year. It was a fantastic season where we not only saw development in training, but also on the competition floor. In the 2019 competition season we received:

  • 8 x 1st place trophies
  • 4 x 2nd place trophies
  • 3 x 3rd place trophies
  • Highest Scoring Scholastic Team at AASCF Winterfest and Aussie Gold Internationals
  • Creative Choreography and Sportsmanship award at DCE

I would like to thank our Competitive teams, Purple, Pink and Black Reign for giving your all at each competition. You worked together despite various challenges, showing dedication, passion and team work. Your love for the sport is admirable.

Our Semi-Competitive teams have also stepped up within the last term to deliver amazing routines at Aussie Gold Summer Fest. Thank you to all the students and parents for being committed to these groups. We have had fun creating, developing and mastering the sequencing of skills, and all students have progressed. The dedication and determination it takes to master the basic skills have been proven by both Blue and Silver Reign.

I hope each student enjoyed their time in the cheer teams for 2019, and can’t wait to see what 2020 holds for the students at Groves. With 2019 coming to an end, I would like to say congratulations to all the athletes for overcoming a major change to our cheer program this year. With new comps, new teams and of course a new coach in this final period. We would like to thank Coach Gareth for helping our teams out with final competitions and skills.
