The Year 12 students of 2019 have just completed the last ever Queensland Core Skills Test. What a historical landmark this is!
The QCS test was used by the QCAA (Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority) as one of the scaling tools in the determination of the students’ OP (Overall Position) scores.
As we farewell the current curriculum at the end of 2019, we are welcoming the new curriculum and all the fresh changes it brings. There will be external exams in each General subject as well as Essential English and Essential Mathematics in 2020.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude towards Mrs Cathy Ener who served as the Chief Community Representative for Groves Christian College for the last 8 years. This is a responsibility that Cathy undertook with diligence and a strong sense for the accurate administering of the test.
The support and help provided by all staff to prepare students for the test as well as the organisation of the two days is highly appreciated. So as this era of Queensland’s education draws to a close, we thank and congratulate all the staff and students who were actively involved in this historic test.
