What a fantastic day it was at the Groves Community Fair on Saturday, August 3. It is due to the combined efforts of our students, parents, staff, volunteers and wider community that resulted in the day being enjoyable for everyone who attended.

Our students performed outstandingly across the three stages at the Sports Dome, the MPC and Groves Unplugged.

Thank you to our parents who volunteered, prepared goodies and donated items towards our College stalls. We were blessed with beautiful weather from the start, ending with a fireworks display in true spectacular fashion by All Fired Up Fireworks.

Thank you to our food vendors; BBQ To You, Joeys Mini Pancakes, Potato Twisters, Mr Moo Berry, I Heart Calamari, Sticky Chins, Churros de Oro, Kingdom Makers and Hello Thailand.

There were two carnival areas with new rides and old favourites operated by ABC Fun Rides.

A spectacular display of cars in the central carpark was thanks to Rod Squad, Weir Family Racing and our very own Adopt-a-cop.

A special thank you to our sponsors, Loganholme Sizzler, Storage King Kingston, Goodlife Springwood, Madison Cleaning Services, Divisions 2 and 5 Logan City Council, Kingston Park Raceway and Lions Club Springwood. We are also thankful to contributors of prizes, Gold Coast Titans, Deep Grey, Meadowbrook Golf Club, Beenleigh Historical Village and Museum, Logan Tenpin Bowl, Cheesecake Shop Waterford West and Bunnings Underwood.

We hope you enjoyed the challenges throughout the day. Congratulations to the winners of these challenges as well as the cake and wearable art competitions.

Did you grab a photo with one our special guests at the Challenge photo booth? Thank you to Dr Jim Chalmers, Hon. Cameron Dick, Jon Raven and Darren Power for being a part of the opening to #grovesfair 19 and engaging with our community on the day.

Keep an eye out for the photo gallery in next week’s College News, but for now, please enjoy our highlight video. We look forward to the 2020 Groves Community Fair (#grovesfair20) on Saturday, August 1, 2020.
