This term in Mathematics, Year 9 students have been learning about linear equations and how to sketch their graphs. We are also exploring where linear relationships can be used to explain and predict how God’s world works.

For their assessment this term, students are using toys and linear equations to create bungees. They have been using rubber bands as a bungee and measuring how long the bungee extends. They will need to create a linear equation, linking the length of their bungee and how far their toy ‘bungee jumper’ will fall.

It has been good to see students interested in linear equations as they have carried out this task.
