College Life: 2019, Term 1, Week 7

A School in Harmony

“All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord; they will bring glory to your name.” Psalm 86:9

Next Thursday, March 21, we are celebrating Harmony Day as a whole College. Harmony Day is a time for students to share elements of their cultural heritage with the college community, through various performances and activities. It is beautiful to see so many passionate students practising during lunchtime and after school, and to see the pride they take in showcasing their family traditions.

We have somewhere in the vicinity of 72 nations represented at Groves. It is encouraging to see students of all ethnicities participating in each other’s cultural performances, regardless of their own heritage. The support and unity displayed by students is part of what makes Groves so special.

I encourage you to join with us in the MPC for the Harmony Day celebration, Thursday, March 21, 2019. We extend a special invitation to our Distance Education families at either of the following celebrations.

  • 8:50 am to 9:50 am (Primary students in attendance)
  • 10:00 am to 11:00 am (Secondary students in attendance)

The National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence is on tomorrow, Friday, March 15, 2019. The day is designed to educate the community and encourage students to take action against bullying and violence. Students have been participating in age-appropriate activities and discussion during Home Class this week, to bring awareness to the issue and promote prevention strategies to assist schools, students, parents and the community.
