On Friday, February 15, the year 11 and 12 Visual Art students visited the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, to view the 9th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT9) exhibition. The exhibition consists of more than 400 artworks by over 80 artists –collectives, groups, and individuals from across the Pacific.

The year 11 students viewed the exhibition as part of their ‘authentic experience’ component of their assessment, which is a critical aspect of the new curriculum. Both the year 11 and year 12 students enjoyed the exhibition and found it beneficial to direct their art-making process.
