Kindness through Loving Hearts
Our Vision for each student is for them to develop Loving Hearts and Strong Minds for God. These values are taught in classroom lessons, outdoor team games, school chapels and many other situations in school. By equipping students with the right tools in loving one another, we teach them how to be gracious, accepting of others and how to show compassion and kindness to each other. Rather than rely on random acts of kindness, we aim to demonstrate how to be intentional with our kind words or behaviour.
Students are often seen sharing kindness all around our school community. This can be by helping their teachers set up or pack up lesson equipment, buddying up with new Groves students and showing them around the school, encouraging their peers when circumstances are difficult and cheering them on to keep going! As we continually build a network of support among students and staff, we strive to educate our Groves students for eternity.
Very soon our students will also be preparing to mark two special days in the Term One calendar, which will also help them to directly apply the Vision of Loving Hearts. On Friday 15 March we will participate in activities to acknowledge the “National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence”. The following week we will celebrate “Harmony Day” on Thursday 21 March, enjoying the unity of our Groves community. We look forward to these events each year as they echo back to our core values and remind us of how God created us each to live relationships of kindness and love.
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience” Colossians 3:12.
