Well done Groves Christian College learning community on our smooth start to the 2019 school year! My name is Vanessa Osborne. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team my job is to help the different parts of the College to keep looking at ways of improving. My title is the Head of Quality K-12 Schooling at Groves.
During February, I will additionally serve as the acting Head of College, as Allan (Mr Allan Weir, Head of College) travels to America with his family to enjoy some well-deserved long service leave.
You will have received several emails leading up to the first day with a range of information for the start of the school year. This information is designed to support you and your children. We understand there is a lot to take in and if you have any questions or concerns, I encourage you to contact your child’s home class teacher with any questions you may have.
The beginning of the school year is always a mix of emotions; the excitement of a new adventure and the nerves of the unknown. In these early stages of the new year we want to help all our students, new and existing, settle in as quickly as possible. We have proven methods to support students, it is always best to speak with child’s home class teacher in the first place. If required, home class teachers will refer matters to the pastoral team.
I pray your child has a wonderful, successful year as you partner with us in 2019. Together let us work to develop resilience in our children. For our students to be strong and courageous in the knowledge that God is for them.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9).
I have attached a simple survey to receive feedback regarding how our families experienced the back to school experience, please take a minute to complete it.Day School Survey Distance Education Survey
