In this term of Physics, the year 11 and 12 students have been studying the physics of amusement parks. Whether it is roller coasters or Ferris wheels, we have investigated and discussed how each ride, whatever it may involve, incorporates physics within it. As a culmination of this unit, the students went to Aussie World to test and experience the theories they have been learning about.
As a part of the day at Aussie World, the students had access to a physics vest that has measuring instruments integrated inside. They used this to measure and see the various forces in action throughout a seemingly simple ride. The students will take this data and analyse it during class to evaluate and possibly improve the ride to maximise the thrill.
