Foundation Peer Reading

Foundation students have been visiting their peers’ classrooms to read books together. Year One students visit Prep students for half an hour every Wednesday and Year Three students join Year Two students every Tuesday to extend their reading skills. Peer reading sessions have enabled students to help one another to decode challenging words, become better listeners and discuss what their books are about. Students can use books from their classroom, their Home Reader bag or they can bring in their favourite book to read to their friends. Please encourage your children to share with you about their buddy reading time, as we continue to foster their enjoyment of books and reading for leisure.
