In English, Prep classes are focusing on sentence writing. To engage students in their learning, funny sentences were written and everyone laughed! The students chose a variety of different characters, settings and activities to include in their sentences, while they learned the correct formation and punctuation required. After constructing a variety of funny sentences, students chose one sentence to write and illustrate in their books. This week’s sentence was ‘My Teacher Sang Loudly Under Water’. Students thought this sentence was hilarious and they drew a detailed picture to match. They enjoyed making their teachers do funny things based on their sentences and wrote about their teacher driving a tractor under the sea! Each child is encouraged to self-check their writing, identify capital letters at the start, punctuation at the end and finger spaces in between each word.
