Artwork in Year 3

In Year 3, students have had opportunities to learn and practise their knowledge of primary and secondary colours through many creative outlets. Beginning with a colour wheel, the students were able to discover that by blending colours they can create entirely new colours and change artworks.

Through experimenting with different techniques and brushes, the students were able to complete other magnificent artworks including the ‘blending vases’. The students practised this new art technique by blending water colours to create more secondary and tertiary colours.

The final artwork made explicit links to our History unit where the focus has been on celebrations in Australia and other countries. Using oil pastels, students created magnificent ‘Rosetta’ artworks to create fireworks which they thoroughly enjoyed making.
