Congratulations to everyone who made the workshops a great success. Special thanks to the teachers for your creative and engaging learning activities. This week I reminded the day school students of the need to wear hats. Likewise I encourage you to keep expecting your children to wear hats when outside.
The Cancer Council of Queensland website reminds us to remain vigilant about sun safety as the Sunshine State (Queensland) remains the skin cancer capital of the world. At Groves, sadly, we know the damage of melanomas. We have lost loved colleagues to cancer caused by melanomas. Every time we are in the sun, UV damage is occurring. While those of us from an Irish background have the biggest risk, everyone, no matter their skin tone is at risk from skin cancer.
In the busyness of life peace is hard to find. Our February calendar verse from 2 Thessalonians 3:16 reminds us about the peace that can only come through Jesus. “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.” It is not that we will be free from situations, rather God Himself will be with us through the situations.
