Thank you to our volunteers

This year’s National Volunteer Week theme was: Give a little. Change a lot.

We appreciate our dedicated volunteers who give of their time at Groves Christian College. Each one of you add value to our learning community.

If you would like to know more about volunteering at Groves, pick up a volunteer pack from Reception.

Currently we are seeking volunteers for:

  • Mary Poppins (upcoming Secondary musical)
  • Our Community Fair

Please indicate your availability directly to your home class teacher or email groves@groves.qld.edu.au or speak directly with me.

We love hearing from our volunteers about their experience volunteering at Groves.

As the grandmother of 5 wonderful Groves Students I feel blessed to be allowed to volunteer and contribute, however slightly, to my grandchildren’s future.
The rewards are numerous, but my happiest moment is when a head pops in and says: Hi Nan” (Lynn Calder – grandparent of Groves students and volunteering in home readers)

I find my time spent volunteering at Groves is very rewarding & satisfying. The children get to know & recognise you, the littler children will always say hello & give you a high five.” (Lisa Miller – parent of Groves students and volunteering in the classroom and tuckshop)

Volunteering with children has to be the most rewarding thing one can do for oneself, not to mention for the children and teachers. It builds trust in our community. You come away feeling like you’ve just had one of the best days of life.” (Maureen Woods – grandparent of Groves students and volunteering in the Arts department).

As my children attend the school, I thought what a better way to get involved in the school community than volunteer my time. I have found the staff to be extremely friendly and inviting, offering up their time to assist me and teach me different areas of the school. I have experienced such a loving and Christian minded culture in the staff and students at the school. It’s such a pleasure to volunteer.” (Erin Twitchin – parent of Groves students and volunteering in the tuckshop and administration)

Thank you for being a Groves volunteer.
