At Touchdown on Friday 11th May, students made No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies. This allowed us to incorporate some simple maths concepts by doubling the recipe and working out how much we now needed to use. Students also make boxes from sheets of card paper which they used to package the cookies up in, in preparation for Mother’s Day.
Touchdown is a program that is run for Groves Distance Education students who have additional needs from Prep – Year 12. It is run on Friday mornings (usually on a fortnightly basis) from 9:30am – 11:30am at Campus 2, located at 12 Velorum Drive, Kingston. There is no registration needed if you are attending, you simply come to Campus 2 on the day and sign in at the hall.
Please ensure that your student wears closed in shoes and brings a water bottle and a small, healthy snack for morning tea.
