Assistant in Nursing School-Based Traineeship

Earlier this term four of our students applied to attend a Health Inspirations Day at Logan Hospital. The day was the first step in the selection process for Nursing Traineeships with QLD Health at Logan Hospital. In 2017, 80% of students involved in the school-based traineeship program retained employment with their host employer post traineeship. Approximately 60% successfully used the traineeship as a rank entry into Bachelor of Nursing at University and a further 30% progressed into the Diploma of Nursing post traineeship. Widely regarded as a pathway to employment program, this is a great opportunity for our students to secure their place in the largest employing industry in Australia’s economy.

All four students were selected for the interview process. I’m very pleased to announce that three of the four have been offered a school-based traineeship for Assistant in Nursing. The fourth student, Judith, is still in the running for a traineeship in Aged Care or Disability Support.

Logan Hospital has offered places to only ten students from the Logan region. It is an immense credit to our three students to be chosen out of a large number of students from other schools.

Big CONGRATULATIONS!! Gloria, Pule, and Shantel. This is the first big step in their journey towards a career in the health industry.
