Developing hearts and minds for God

We focus on helping our students become more like the people God designed them to be. This includes helping them understand how to make the right choices in life. The Bible explains to us that it is from our inner being (in other words; heart, soul, or the principle place of our existence) that our thoughts, feelings and actions flow.

This is why our vision is to see young men and women with loving hearts and strong minds for God shine like stars as they pursue His purpose now and into eternity. One aspect of developing hearts and minds for God is looking after them. How best to teach our children and young people to look after their hearts and minds in the modern world requires wisdom. Proverbs 4:23 states; “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Over the coming weeks we will explore this verse further.

Queensland Certificate of Education QCE

Senior Phase teaching staff strive to support students to achieve their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and for some students with special needs their Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement. Over recent years we have been successful in lifting the percentage of Year 12 students completing their certificates to where it is rare that a student does not finish their certificate by the end of Year 12. Contributing to the success has been:

  • The ongoing strengthening of the partnership between families and staff working together to be there for the students through the right blend of challenge and care.
  • Sharper focus on relevant QCE pathway and subject selections.
  • Enhanced online learning resources.
  • Increased student focus on their studies.
  • Stronger tracking of individual students leading to earlier intervention.

Student led ANZAC Day Service at Groves

The students participated and led the College ANZAC Day Service on Monday with fitting dignity and tradition. I am proud of the students and confident that they will remember the price others have paid and will continue to pray for our liberty and way of life.

God bless,
